In Order. The One
May 10, 2017. Psalm 50, 53, 60, 75.
God is the Mighty One. The scriptures remind us time and time again of the power of God. He is the only one who can save.
Psalm 50:1-3
The Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to where it sets.
From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth.
Our God comes and will not be silent
Do you find yourself standing around the water cooler at work being totally sucked into the gossip about this or that person? Or do you have a group of friends that just love to party and you cannot help but join in on the “fun”? Or maybe you are the one who is always up to date on the gossip and dragging your friends out to parties.
It is so easy to adopt the behaviors and attitudes of those around you and to fall into the “well everyone else is doing it too, so why shouldn’t I” mentality. This kind of thinking has only gotten more prevalent in our society today. Even followers of Christ begin to compromise on what they know is right in God’s eyes, for what society is telling them is right; whether it be in their relationships, their manner of speaking, or even how they enjoy themselves.
It is a challenge to break away from those norms and follow Christ and the path He has for you, but it is so worth it.
Psalm 53:2-4
God looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.
Do all these evildoers know nothing?
Be that one.
The one who follows after The One True God. The one who understands what it means to be loved by God and what His grace looks like. How do you be that one? By seeking Him.
Be the one that seeks God and leads others to Him. And remember that you are chasing after The One True God, the Mighty One.
