In Order. Still Looking?

October 12. Matthew 11

John the Baptist, who was now in prison, heard about all the miracles the Messiah was doing, so he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you really the one we are waiting for, or shall we keep on looking?”

Have you ever found yourself in a store, perhaps around the holiday season, shopping for a gift, but you did not know what the gift was going to be, only that you would know it when you see it?

There is something about that moment – “That’s it! That is what I was looking for. They will love it!”  Imagine John the Baptist when he receives notice from Christ in response to his question, “Are you really the one we are waiting for, or shall we keep on looking?” Nope! You can quit looking! Christ is it, you need not look any further. There is no other Savior. Salvation is found in no other name, but the name of Jesus and there is power in that name. Power to transform lives, marriages, families, and nations!

If you have been looking for another answer in your life apart from Christ, stop. He is the One that you have been waiting for. Believe it. Receive Him.

Here is an interesting thought about this inquiry of John the Baptist; because he had heard about the miracles of the Messiah, he asked the question. If you let that sink in for a few minutes it opens up a wonderful truth for your life, if you have stopped looking for any other answer apart from Jesus Christ – are you talking about His miracles in your life? When you talk about Christ in your life then it will also cause others to wonder about Him as well, and look for Him.

The world is waiting for answers. It is needing a savior. How will they look in the direction of Christ and finally see what they knew they needed but never knew what it was that they needed? That miracle happens when those that have found Him, speak of Him and tell others. You can be a part of a miracle in someone else’s life simply by speaking of your miracle salvation and relationship with Jesus Christ, and God as your Heavenly Father.

Do not be quiet about it if you have found Christ as your Lord and Savior. Talk about it. Tell someone about Him! He is what you were looking for and He is what the world needs as well.

You do not need to keep looking. Jesus is all you need.
