In Order. Security Blanket

In Order. Security Blanket

Get up and go, don’t ask questions, don’t hesitate, don’t look back, just get up and go.  That is what the Lord expects from us, to have pure faith, enough faith that when we are asked or called to do something, we do it without hesitation.  You may be shaking your head thinking is that even possible? How does someone not question where he or she is going or what they are being asked to do.  Take a look at a man who is not even named in the bible, but holds a great example of faith.

Mark 2:11-12

“I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.”

He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”

The man had been paralyzed and was brought to the feet of Jesus by his friends lowering him down through a hole in the roof they created.  This man could have continued to lay there in shock and hesitation, because can you imagine someone telling you get up and walk, after years of not being able to feel your own legs? He could have looked at Jesus and said “are you crazy? My legs don’t work, who are you to be able to tell me to get up and walk?” This man could have laughed thinking it was some sort of joke, and yet he did none of that. Instead, this man showed no hesitation, showed no fear, but pure blind faith that what he was told would happen and he trusted that his legs would hold him and carry him home.

Do you have that kind of faith? Have you been called to do something or go somewhere but have been afraid to take those first steps? What has the Lord challenged you to do and yet you are holding on to a mat and not trusting your Lord and Saviour to give you the strength and the ability to take those first steps.  What has become your security blanket or mat? What is holding you back?God has something ready for you but is waiting for you to let go of that security mat and take those steps.
