In Order. Planned Out

January 29, 2017. Genesis 48 – 50.

Tough times come, trials, valleys, and times of being stretched thin.  It is a part of life. However there are times that you may question, “why me?” or “why this right now?”

If you are going through those times that you just don’t understand why or how you are going to make it through such a tough and trying time, know that God is using it for the better and you may not see the big picture now.

Take Joseph for example, in Genesis 50 he is lucky enough to see the reason why he went through all of those hard and trying times with his brothers.  He finally gets to see why he was sold by his own brothers, why he was put into prison, why he was shown those dreams so many years ago.

15 When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “What if Joseph holds a grudge against us and pays us back for all the wrongs we did to him?” 16 So they sent word to Joseph, saying, “Your father left these instructions before he died: 17 ‘This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brothers the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.’ Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father.” When their message came to him, Joseph wept. 18 His brothers then came and threw themselves down before him. “We are your slaves,” they said. 19 But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? 20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

God allowed him to go through everything he went through so that he would be able to help save the lives of thousands of people.

Please be encouraged in knowing that if you are willing and open, God will use you.  You may not ever know the complete affect you may have on someone or a situation, but God can and will use you and your situation.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
