In Order. Pass It On

December 19, 2017. Titus 1-3.

Would you consider yourself a bondservant of God like Paul did? A slave by choice? We have seen that Paul lived in accord with godly living. Paul and Titus are a pattern for other believers to follow after. Through their journey they would be the example to Christ followers, and would pass it on….

What will be passed on by us?

Are we thinking of eternal pass on’s? Or does the mind automatically rush to material or legacy thoughts?

Here are some wonderful teachings to pass on:

(Titus 2:11-14) For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Even though as believers we have our citizenship in heaven, we are called to pass on how to live in this world as salt and light.

Those that are well-seasoned in the faith are encouraged to be teachers of good things, to the younger generations. With a lifestyle that would speak of integrity, reverence and sound in faith.

(Titus 2:7, 8) In all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works, in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility. Sound speech that cannot be condemned that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.

Believers are messengers of grace and directed here to speak, exhort, and rebuke, and to do so with all authority. The one passing on this grace needs to remember that they are messengers of The King, holding words of truth and life!

The bible is the reference book to those passing on how to live to others. There will be times we don’t like how the Lord calls us to live, but we will always be in need of it and wiser for it….

We may look at ourselves and ask “can i be a teacher of how to live with the things of my life?” Ahhhh…the very fact that we are asking my friend may just be the most perfect place to be. The heart that is teachable itself, humble, and longing for change and renewal. Any challenges we face will also carry special opportunities with them. God can use the wisdom and experience learned from our life to pass on!

In all things showing yourselves to be a pattern of good works is what Titus taught. In order for him to pass these things on he would have to prove to be more than just a teacher, he would also have to be an example.

Passing it on to others cannot be taken seriously if we ourselves are not walking with the Lord in obedience, and ready to take on His orders!

Pass It On….
