In Order. Odd One Out
There are times when we are going about our daily lives when all of a sudden something is said by someone we work with or see on a daily basis that gives us pause. There is that realization that we are different. As a Christian this is an occurrence that we should be proud is happening, because we are different. We should be thinking differently than the world, acting differently, and making others question what is different about us.
John 14:16-17
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever – the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him because it neither see him nor knows hiim. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
John 15: 19
If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
John 17:16
They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.
We should stand out, we are not part of this world anymore. Once you have accepted who Christ is, you are no longer apart of this world.
John 14:6
Jesus answered, “ I am the way and the truth and life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
There will be judgement, you will feel like an outcast at times. It is not easy going against the majority. It is not easy standing firm when others mock you, betray you, question the way you live. Christ knew this would not be easy, he went through it himself, but that is where we have to find peace and comfort in His Word.
John 16:33
“I have told you these thing, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Take heart, for he has overcome the world. Stand out, be different, be the odd ball or black sheep of your family, let others question why you have a love, joy, and peace that they have never had. Be that light that the Lord has called you to be and don’t be afraid to be different. You are not apart of this world, but just a pilgrim passing through.
