In Order. New Heart, New Spirit
There are times in our life where we become judgemental. We judge others around us for the way they live their lives, the way they talk, their clothes, their mannerisms, etc. Whatever it is that catches our attention and allows us to think we are so much better than they.
Ezekiel lays out really well for us in chapter 18, he is blunt and honest. The one who sins will die. We tend to be more concerned with how others are living their lives when in reality we should be more concerned with how we are living ours. Are we doing everything in our power to follow Christ wholeheartedly? What sin in our own lives have we allowed to go unchecked? What is it that is holding us back from completely surrendering our lives over to Him?
Ezekiel 18:30
“Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.
31 Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and new spirit. Why will you die, people of Israel?
One day we will all die for the sin we have all committed. One day our flesh and bones will die and be left here on this physical earth. But, on that day our souls have two places where they could end up: Heaven or Hell. We will be judged, each of us according to our own ways. The Lord begs us to repent and to get a new heart and spirit.
He has made it so simple for us to do just that. It is a gift, a gift that he hands to us and is waiting for you to accept.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God wants to create in you a new heart, a new spirit. He wants to give you a gift of eternal life with him, if you would only repent of your sin, acknowledge it and know that His one and only son has paid the ultimate price for your sin and accept him as your Lord and Savior.
