In Order. Healing

In Order. Healing

Ever wonder if there will come a point when God is going to say “I have had it with (your name), there is nothing more I can do with them”? You think “wow, that was probably the last straw” or “how is He ever going to forgive me for that?”

Well you are in luck because that is what Isaiah touches on in just one of these very eye-opening chapters.  So here is the thing, we are human, we are going to make mistakes, we are going to be stubborn and try our own way; God has seen that happen over and over again throughout history, the Bible is full of examples, and unfortunately it does not surprise him.  But! God says in Isaiah 57:19

“And I will heal them.”

Wow what a relief.  Now let’s back up a little and see exactly where this is coming from.

Isaiah 57:17-19

17 I was enraged by their sinful greed; I punished them, and hid my face in anger, yet they kept on their willful ways.

18 I have seen their ways, but I will heal them; I will guide them and restore comfort to Israel’s mourners,

19 creating praise on their lips. Peace, peace, to those far and near,” says the Lord. “And I will heal them.”

Twice in those three chapters he says “I will heal them.”  God does get upset and hurt when we keep on our willful ways, he is our Father. But that is the thing, He. Is. Our. Father; he hurts when we hurt, mourns when we mourn, and loves us so fiercely that even though we turn our backs on him time and time again, he will continue to welcome us back with open arms, ready to embrace every scar and hurt we just endured.  He is there ready to heal our hearts.

He has already seen our ways; there is nothing to hide from him. So why do we then think that we are not worth enough to receive that healing? All we need to do is acknowledge our sin and our sinful ways and let your Heavenly Father guide us and restore comfort and heal our broken hearts.  It seems so simple and yet we make it so difficult, because of pride and fear.

Your Heavenly Father wants to heal you, your past is your past, seek Him, fall into his loving embrace and let him heal you.  Let him give you a peace that only he would be able to provide.  Let him restore in you a heart that seeks only Him and His ways.
