In Order. Get Grit

July 29. Isaiah 49-53

Is this the story of your life?

You were born. You are living your life, but you feel like “there has to be more to life than this…”

Follow these verses and receive hope, receive a plan, take the next bold step in confidence that God knows you and He is not finished working for you and with you! Get grit - don't quit!

God knew you before you were born…

49:1 Listen to me, all of you in far-off lands: The Lord called me before my birth. From within the womb he called me by my name.

God has a plan, a good plan for your life…

49:3 He said to me: “You are my servant, a prince of power with God, and you shall bring me glory.”

You live your life and it seems as if nothing works out. Nothing ever seems to go right or turn out the way you thought it would.

49:4 I replied, “But my work for them seems all in vain; I have spent my strength for them without response. Yet I leave it all with God for my reward.”

Now hear these words and remember His promises and His character… He has given you the strength to finish and finish well.

49:“And now,” said the Lord—the Lord who formed me from my mother’s womb to serve him who commissioned me to restore to him his people Israel, who has given me the strength to perform this task and honored me for doing it!

Now get ready to do more than you ever thought. He is God. You are created with a purpose, to glorify Him. He wants you to succeed in that.

49:6 “you shall do more than restore Israel to me. I will make you a Light to the nations of the world to bring my salvation to them too.”

You and I have been created with a purpose. God has a plan for your life and He has the strength available for you to perform that task! When you get grit and stay with it, you too will see the triumph.

50:7 Because the Lord God helps me, I will not be dismayed; therefore, I have set my face like flint to do his will, and I know that I will triumph.

Set your face like flint – get ready to take some hits, but they will not break you! Flint is hard. Flint is strong. In life, you will have countless opportunities to quit, but set your face like flint and be resolved to not abandon what God is doing in your life – He will never abandon you. Christ never quit all the way to the cross He went!

“O you redeemed ones, on whose behalf this strong resolve was made—you who have been bought by the precious blood of this steadfast, resolute Redeemer—come and think awhile of Him, that your hearts may burn within you and that your faces may be set like flints to live and die for Him who lived and died for you!”
