In Order. Final Act.

December 31. Revelation 19 – 22.

And that is it. Today’s reading is the final in this chronological, one year, plan to read the Bible. Read in chronological order in an attempt to put your life back in order according to the Scriptures.

The End. You read it through to the last act. What is on your mind now? What do you think? What is next for you? From beginning to end God has one purpose – to establish a kingdom for His Son and to have that kingdom full of people. You are a part of that plan. You are a part of God’s plan. He thinks of you since before the beginning of time and until His Son rules and reigns, God is thinking of you.

Order in your life is established when you have hope and direction; when you understand your purpose and place. This final book in the Bible, these final chapters give you that direction, the end, your place and your purpose.

21:3 I heard a loud shout from the throne saying, “Look, the home of God is now among men, and he will live with them and they will be his people; yes, God himself will be among them. He will wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor pain. All of that has gone forever.”

22:3 There shall be nothing in the city that is evil; for the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him. And they shall see his face; and his name shall be written on their foreheads. And there will be no night there—no need for lamps or sun—for the Lord God will be their light; and they shall reign forever and ever.

God’s plan gives you the direction. You must decide whether to follow that plan and purpose or not. That greatly depends upon your source of hope. Where there is hope, there is strength and resolve to take another step, to get up one more time, to try again.

Read these words, and root your hope in the truth, power, authority, and immutability found in them.

22:12 “See, I am coming soon, and my reward is with me, to repay everyone according to the deeds he has done. 13 I am the A and the Z, the Beginning and the End, the First and Last. 14 Blessed forever are all who are washing their robes, to have the right to enter in through the gates of the city and to eat the fruit from the Tree of Life.

Christ’s words – He is coming again. As sure as he came born of a virgin, he will come again and his kingdom will be established and God’s plans have always been for you to be there too.

May these words be your words of hope and order your life for that glorious day!

22:20 “He who has said all these things declares: Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!
