In Order. Comforting Strength

Comforting Strength

Isaiah 40-43

Our next chapters of reading, are full of the message of hope and comfort for the believer! We see there can be comfort because of the Lord’s presence in the middle of life. He reveals Himself as strength and yet a tender guide.

(Isaiah 40:10) Behold, (look, observe) the Lord God shall come with a strong hand, and His arm shall rule for Him. Behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him.

(Isaiah 40:11) He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them to His bosom, and gently lead those with young.

God the creator is so intimate with His people and the whole universe! He is all knowing, and ever present! God doesn’t grow weary like man does.

Why is it we can so easily be discouraged and fearful? Is our concept of God too small at times? Do we really take to heart that the Lord longs for us to wait and depend on Him?

He so wants to exchange our weakness for His strength? (Isaiah 40:31) But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall walk and not faint.

He wants to bring us to Himself!

It can be a daily exchange as we walk through life with Him. His goodness can be visible in the struggles of life. The LORD has a consistent history of deliverance and deep care for His people. It will reveal that His purpose is for our good. (Isaiah 43:10, 11)

It is our privilege to be a witness to the very fact, that there is no other like the Lord! We have no need for fear, because the Lord promises to be with us. It has to be a complete understanding of who God truly is. He is the perfect picture of love and has always been, and always will be.

(Isaiah 43:1-3a) But now, thus says the LORD, your Creator, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel, “do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you. “For I am the LORD your God. The Holy One of Israel, your Savior;”

Would you choose strength in the LORD today? He so wants to do a new thing for each of us! He longs to make a road in your wilderness, and bring rivers to your desert!

Isaiah 42:6 says, “I the LORD, have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand.

The Lord wants to lead us gently as He would a child to a safe, comforting place, as He fulfills His promises!

He is our comfort, and our strength!!
