In Order. Are You Prepared?
It is easy to become a “lazy” Christian; you get comfortable and do just the bare minimum. You think “oh I have accepted Christ, so I am good, I have nothing to worry about. I have plenty of time to get my life in order.” So your life stays the same and nothing is changed. But what happens when that day comes and the Lord returns? What will you say then?
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”
The Lord calls us to be vigilant at all times because not even Jesus Christ himself knows the day that he will return for, only God the Father.
“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”
We do not know when he will coming back, but do you want to get caught with your hand in the cookie jar when he does return? We are called to be different, we are called to show His light and love to the world at all times. Look at Noah, he did not know when the flood would come, only that it would and he obeyed the commands of his Lord and prepared for something he had no understanding of.
As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
Challenge yourself today, if the Lord were to return today, would you be prepared? Would you be excited to see him knowing you have done everything possible in anticipation of his return? Is there someone who comes to mind that you wish you would have shared the gift of knowing the Lord and Savior with? Is there forgiveness you are struggling to give to someone who has wronged you? Are you prepared to face the judgement from the only judge who matters?
