In Order. A Love That Endures

June 14, 2017. 2 Chronicles 6-7, Psalm 136.

Again we see the completion of the temple that Solomon built for the Lord and it’s dedication.  The glory of the Lord filled the temple and 120 priests with trumpets and other musicians praised the Lord and sang.

2 Chronicles 7:6

The priests took their positions, as did the Levites with the Lord’s musical instruments, which King David had made for praising the Lord and which were used when he gave thanks, saying, “His love endures forever.” Opposite the Levites, the priests blew their trumpets, and all the Israelites were standing.

You have most likely heard someone tell you “Your body is a temple.”  And although the phrase in a more sarcastic manner, it still holds true.  If you have accepted Christ Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, the glory of the Lord dwells in you, and if that isn’t something that makes you want to gather hundreds of musicians to play and sing praises I don’t know what will!

Celebrate your salvation and the wondrous works of the Lord and share it with others.

2 Chronicles 7:3

When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the Lord above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying,

“He is good;

    his love endures forever.”

When the glory of the Lord filled the temple the people proclaimed “He is good, His love endures forever.”

Psalm 136 is such a sweet picture of how good God is and how His love sustains.

Here are just a few of those examples, but the entire chapter is an incredible reminder.

23

He remembered us in our low estate

His love endures forever.

24

and freed us from our enemies.

His love endures forever.

25

He gives food to every creature.

His love endures forever.

26

Give thanks to the God of heaven.

His love endures forever.

So relish in the love of God today, give thanks, and celebrate a love that endures.  Share that love and hope with someone this week.
