In Order. A Little Crazy

“You are crazy!” “Prove it.” “Show me your invisible god.” “How can you believe in someone you have never met?” Any of these ring a bell? It is not an easy path we follow as Christians.  It is one faced with criticism, speculation, and even at times hatred.  We are always going against the flow and a lot of times we are labeled a little crazy for it.

To a point we are.  We are stepping out in complete faith and trusting someone with not just our lives but everything we hold dear. Someone who physically we have never met before, and you have to admit that is a little insane. Paul understands this all to well.  He has been locked up in prison for over two years and is finally facing someone who can set him free.  So Paul goes on to explain his story and defense.

Acts 26:24-26

At this point Festus interrupted Paul’s defense. “You are out of your mind, Paul!” he shouted. “Your great learning is driving you insane.”

“I am not insane, most excellent Festus,” Paul replied. “What I am saying is true and reasonable. The king is familiar with these things, and I can speak freely to him. I am convinced that none of this has escaped his notice, because it was not done in a corner.

They think Paul has actually lost his marbles from all of his studying and probably being locked up for so long. But Paul’s response is where you should pause: “because it was not done in a corner.” Paul has never been ashamed or bashful about his walk with Christ, he has always been open and honest about it, so he has never hid any of his actions, thoughts, or beliefs.  He is a walking testimony of who God is.

So do people look at you and think “wow, they are just plain old crazy” or do they look at you and think “maybe there is something to what they are saying.”  Let your life speak for you, let people want a piece of your crazy incredible relationship with an amazing Heavenly Father. Being a Christian is a little crazy, but it is filled with love and adventure and hope.
